Trying to figure out socket failure discrepancies on Appveyor.

We *never* run or refrence these, so time to yank 'em. Hopefully moving the massive ops off the parallel pipeline will help improve Appveyor stability.

This will make maintenace and compares easy for adding sync/async operations. Next up: docs completion and syncing over.
